Why Relationship Therapy?
Relationships are at the heart of our human lives. Good relationships are so important not only for our own happiness and wellbeing but also for the beneficial impact on others around us. A happy relationship provides positive couple and family dynamics, having profoundly positive effects on the mental health of adults and children. They can enhance other areas of our lives such as work and physical health.
On the other end of the spectrum, being in an unhappy relationship can have damaging impact on how we work and interact with others. It can feel like the loneliest place on earth.
Every committed relationship has its ups and downs but when there are particularly testing circumstances, therapy can be extremely useful in working through reoccurring issues. Relationships are complex, and it can be difficult to resolve problems alone. Furthermore the process of seeking therapy and finding a therapist can feel daunting. My aim is to make the experience as straightforward as possible
My own life experiences, specialist training and clinical work have all contributed to my particular interest in relationships, including the relationship with one’s self. I bring a warm and supportive approach to my work, providing a neutral space where we can work together to explore your emotional difficulties. My goal is that each client will come away from the process with greater self awareness and understanding whilst feeling strengthened by the experience.
Weekly sessions take place in a comfortable, safe and confidential environment. I work with clients from all cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
